Great topic to discuss. In this time of recession it is important to work smarter and look for the advantage so that the customer turn to your business. It is most important to look at your business enviroment and look for that idea that may put you one step ahead. Like you say Reid, working through a crisis may bring you a new insight on how to do business or what you should do to your product to make it more appeling. Lets take an example. The World's largest retailer is has been going through many faces of change. Mostly changing the way their business is run. By optimizing their inventory system their are able to cut labor. Their focus now is turning on customer retention and their are being innovative by taking a work load off their sales personnel so that they can turn their attention to the customer. They have also changed their maketing within the store. Everything is more pleasent to shop and less inconvenient to find. Although in New Mexico their vision has a ways to go... they have planted the seed to innovate their business model. Innovation. Great topic to discuss.
